Proverbs Chapter 8 The Voice of the Lord (1) THE VOICE OF THE LORD IS
EVERYWHERE - vs1-4 a. God talks all of the time b.God speaks to us: -personally -through creation -through ministers b. God's voice raises its voice
abive all voices v1- cry out
v3 - cries out - means a raised vocie The Voice of the Lord raises its
voice: 1. to help
us make the right decisions in life - path - v2 path - means crossroads - a place to
make a deicison ***VOICE TIPS ***Until you hear the voice of the
Lord, do not make a decision ***Seek mature Counsel - Prov 11:14
& 15:22
2. To Show
us the way to live ------------------ way - v2 - means way of
life VOICE TIP: God's voice always
lines up with His word 3.
To remind us who we are - vs22-31 v22 -
chosen
v23 - a new creation v24 - in
His heart and mind v30 - delighted
with us
4. The
voice of the Lord raises its voice to all kinds of people - vs 4-9 *believers and unbelievers *3 kinds of people are mentiuoned a
lot in Proverbs:
a. scorners - they will not listen
b. simple - naive people who believe anything and everything
c. fool - is a windbag, full of hot air, lacking in substance What is the voise of the Lord saying
to these 2 groups: ***The Voice of the Lord is Always
Right - vs5-9 right - means straight; direct;
correct;plain; clear and spoken openly *there is no confusion at all VOICE TIPS: The Voice of the Lord always
produces peace
***It takes a stand*** - v2
(2) THE VOICE OF THE LORD ALWAYS
KEEPS YOU ON GOD'S HIGHWAY vs10-11, 17-20 -there's a lot of highways we can
take in life -do not follow bunny trails v21 - follow God's road and He wil
bless you
VOICE TIP: When yuo are not
hearing God's voice, you are hearing God's voice - if the Lord wants you to
change direction, He will let you know
(3) EXPECT TO HEAR THE VOICE OF THE
LORD - vs32-26 v34 - at the gates/at the doors -
this verse is speaking of anticipating the arrival of someone VOICE TIP: give every voice the test
of time God's vocie stays. Every other
vocie leaves REPOSITION YOURSLEF IN A STATE OF
EXPECTATION VS35-36 - IT IS MATTER OF LIFE AND
DEATH
