Revelation Revelation 1:1- means to unveil;
take the lid off; uncover; to discover what is hidden -it is a revelation of Jesus Christ v10 - in the Spirit - represents an
inspired state created by God -it was the exaltation of Jesus
Christ under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit -on the Lord's Day - this is Sunday -the voice of the Lord - sometimes
it is loud like a trumpet **the Lord is simply trying to get
His point across v11 - this is what the voice is
saying: 1. Jesus Christ is God - Ex 3:14
& John 8:58/John 10:7-10 -He has always been/eternal 2. there is a message for the church
- Rev 2-3 book - Biblion which means Bible -refers to a papyrus roll or scroll
- the book of Revelation would have been 15 feet in length v12 - 7 Golden Lampstands -this represents the church age from
the upper room until the present 21st century -7 is the number of completion -it also represents the church being
the light of the world a.) to be a light one must get saved
- 1 Peter 2:9 b.) to be light, people must grow -
lights shine - Matthew 5:13-16 v13 - Jesus is in the middle of the
church - Matthew 16:18 -Jesus is the center and core of
everything -Son of Man - refers to the humanity
of Jesus Christ *******Jesus is our example to
follow 4 Sonships Son of Man - humanity Son of God - deity Son of Abraham - Jewish Son of David - King vs13-16 - a description of Jesus
Christ 1. Jesus wears a robe and a golden
sash - v13 -this is the same dress as the high
priest and represents Jesus being our Intercessor or Mediator 2. is hair is white like wool -
refers to holiness and purity -Jesus never sinned one time/1 Peter
4;1 -white - refers to a bright, blazing
white 3. His eyes are like a flame of fire
- v14 a.) Jesus sees and knows everything b.) it represents a righteous
indignation about sin "His eyes shoot out fire" 4. His feet are like brass - v15 -
speaks of judgment -balance -believers are judged for their
works unbelievers are judged for
their sin 5. voice as many waters -speaks of authority and power -this is a picture of waves of water
hitting the shore very hard 6. the two edged sword - v16 - is
the word of God 7. v16 - countenance like the sun -
represents the presence and glory of God v16 - the 7 stars - these are the
Pastors of each of the 7 churches -The Lord has all leaders in His
hands -some people believe these are real
angels v17 - when we see the Lord we will
fall down like dead men -do not be afraid - tormented/scared ***the Lord has everything under
control v18 - Jesus Christ is Alive v19 - the outline of the book of
Revelation chapter 1 - the things which you
have seen chapters 2-3 - the things which are
- chapters 2-3 - the 7 churches chapters 4-22 - the things which are
to come - the future verse 20 - 7 stars - represent
Pastors of the 7 chuches or real angels churches - means a called out group
of people -individually & personally -corporately
