Rev 2:18-29 & 3:1-6 Rev 2:18-29 - The Church at Thyatira
- the middle ages or dark ages Thyatira - means a daughter -this speaks of a woman who was
leading the church into false doctrine -three descriptions of Jesus Christ: -His eyes -His feet -the Son of God ***the eyes and feet speak of
judgment ***Son of God - speaks of Jesus
Christ being God - 1 John 5:20 & John 1:1,14 v19 - Commends the Church -there were many good things
happening at Thyatira -one was persistence - means not to
quit/boldness;no fear/don't give up/ ***our society is into instant
gratification
Revelation 2:20-24 - vs20 -22 - the church allowed false
doctrine to spread v23 - the Lord will destroy all
false gods and doctrin when He returns vs24-25 - hold on tight to true
doctrine and the Word of God vs26-27 - overcomes - speaks of those
who are saved and born again overcome - means to be victorious
and a conqueror -the born again Christian will rule
and reign with Jesus Christ during the millennium v28 - anothet name for Jesus Christ -a morning star appears right before
dawn when the night is coldest and darkest v29 - the Holy Spirit within us will
reveal to us what is true and what is false - 1 John 2:18-27

3:1-6 v1 - Sardis - means escaping ones -the churches were dead at this time -7 spirits of God - Isaiah 11:1-2 -these are the 7 qualities or
characteristics of the Holy Spirit -are alive - physically -are dead - spiritually 4 stages that can occur in all
churches: -a man -a movement -a machine -a monument
How to get from death to
Life---------------------------- 1. RISE UP - v2 - be watchful and
awake -it means to become wide awake -they were in a deep sleep
spiritually How do you wake anyone up from being
in a deep sleep? *shake them until they get up - the
Lord will shake everything *throw water on them - the word *set off an alarm - Joel 2:1,12-14 *pull the covers off *make noise - prayer 2. REMEMBER - v3 -the Lod is coming back soon -wake up and do not get left behind 3. REPENT - vs3-4 *realize the state you are in and
change your mind v4 - there are some who are awakw
and who are on fire for the Lord 4. REWARD - v5 - I have a
reservation in heaven and it won't be cancelled 5. RENEWAL - we need the Holy Spirit
