Symbols off the Holy Spirit

1.) DOVE - John 1:29-36 (v32)

dove - speaks of beauty;peace;patience;mildness;gentleness

-it speaks of being toned down, docile, tame, yielding, broken and humble; easy to be with and work with

***Jesus is our example - Matthew 11:29

-we need to be like Jesus

-gentleness is the strength of being tender

a.) gentleness dela with speech - James 3:5-17

-we can say what we need to say gently at all times

b.) gentleness delas with our disposition toward others - 1 Peter 3:1-7

v2 - chaste conduct - means immaculate behavior

c.) gentleness wins people to Jesus christ - 1 Thessalonians 2:7-9

v7 - gentle - means mild and kind

-it is a picture of a bird covering her young and keeping them warm

v8- gentleness is being affectionate/a passion to love people

v9 - they were market place ministers

v10 - they lived the life and people got saved

2. WATER - John 7:38-39

a.) water quenches your thirst - John 4:6-14

-from wanting more

-the myth of more - that more will be enough

1.) one's ability to experience happiness is not directly associated with acquiring more

2.) we are called to contentment

-being happy with what we have

-giving away a lot of want we acquire

-declare an enough season

3.) more of Jesus is our goal - Phil 3:10

-you can have al of jesus that you desire

b.) water that sits grows stagnant

-water was created to flow

3.) WIND - John 3:1-8 and Acts 2:2

a.) you cannot see it but it is working

b.) there is fruit from the wind

c.) wind exists everywhere

d.) wind is unpredictable

d.) wind can be experienced in varying degrees

-the way people get saved

-the time for people to get on fire for the Lord
