The Spirit Of Counsel
 
Isaiah 11:2 - The 7-Fold Expression or Flow of the Holy Spirit
 
definition - is knowing the intent of God's mind, thoughts, and heart
              -is God's direction and instruction concerning life and daily living
               - is godly advice
 
 
2 Main Kinds Of Counsel
 
(1) earthly - natural - Man - God using Man
(2) heavenly - supernatural - God - God directly speaking to man
 
 
(1) Human Counsel - Proverbs 19:20
-have a teachable spirit
 
 
a.) surround yourself with many godly people - Prov 11:14 & 15:22
-you make the decision, but include a lot of wise counsel
-do not have an I don't care mentality
 
 
b.) human counsel only confirms what God is directly saying to you
-all Christians can hear from God personally
 
c.) walk in humility when speaking God's counsel to others
-the Lord can use us to give counsel to others
-humility/not directing ourselves/pray about it/take your time
 
 
 
(2) Heavenly or Supernatural Counsel
 
a.) is from God Himself - the Holy Spirit
 
                     1.) do not go to Satanic sources - Dt 18:9-14
 
                      2.) we can hear from God directly - John 21:1-6
 
                      3.) the Holy Spirit can show you things for now and down the road - John 16:13
 
 
b.) is received by being connected with God - Psalam 73:24 & Job 29:2-6
 
counsel - means secret
 
-our own counsel will fall apart - Psalm 33:10-12
-we need God's counsel - Isaiah 55:8-9
 
 
c.) the word of God counsels - Acts 20:27
-the entire counsel of God
 
 
d.) expect God's counsel daily and wait on the counsel of God before making a move
 
Psalm 106:13-15 - lean days come when we follow our own counsel
 
Psalm 130:5-6 - wait on the Lord
-there is no rush to do anything
-time reveals a lot of truth
