v22 - WIVES
v25 - HUSBANDS
The definition of marriage is given -
vs,22,25
-it is defined by God
-it is between a man and a woma n only - Genesis
1:18-25
-it is not living together
-it is allowing God to find the right
person
-it is keeping Jesus Christ in the middle of the
marriage - Eph 5:13
- it is forever
-it is awesome
What every wife needs
1.) AFFECTION - Ephesians 5:25
-The #1 desire of every female is to feel loved by
her husband
***Create an environment of affection in the home
at all times
***any man can learn to be
affectionate
Characteristics of being affectionate
-develop a habit
-become other centered
be kind, gentle and tender to your wife all the
time
have a space shuttle mentality - blast off and
reentry
a lot of hugs, kisses and holding
hands
say I love you several times a day
call her during the day every day
gifts
spend time together
2.) VALUE - 1 Peter 3:7
-after Jesus Christ, the wife is the most important
person in all the world
honor - means to highly value and
respect
how can we value our wives?
a.) with our words
b.) develop a partnership - we are one - Eph
5:21
c.) only touch her gently
d.) change yourself
3.) FAITHFULNESS - Dt 7:9
-we are to be like the Lord and He is
faithful
faithfulness includes 3 things:
1. Faithful words - Prov 23:7
What you believe to be so becomes
so.......................................
2.) Intentional staying
***declare it
**know that God can do anything
3.) Steadfast allegiance
-this is during difficult times
-no wife or person is perfect
-permanent unwavering no matter
what.......
