The 7-Fold Expression of the Holy
Spirit
Revelation 1:4/1:3/5:6
Isaiah 11:2
7 - is the number of God and stands for completion
- means to finish; bring to fullness
-Philippians 1:6
(1) God starts everything in the spiritual
realm
-everything originates from God
(2) God is a completer
-if we allow Him to do it
Isaiah 11:1-2
verse 1 - rod - means a tender, slender
twig
- stem - is a stump/dry
ground
***represents Israel being dead and
dry
-branch - something alive, that is
growing, and produces fruit
The First Expression of the Holy
Spirit
(1) the Spirit of the Lord
-this is intimacy and communion with the Holy
Spirit
REST -means to settle upon; come upon; to settle
down and remain
***speaks of a crowning/the weightiness of
God
***it is a permanent resting
***it is a tangible, manifest presence of God upon
someone
***it results in transformation
How is this manifest presence
received?
1.) you have to understand that it does exist - 2
Chronicles 7:1-3
2.) you have to want to receive it - Psalm
37:4-5
-to be used in it
-to receive from it
3.) you have to understand why it comes and why it
is given - Acts 10:38 & Luke 4:16-19
4.) You must be engage Jesus Christ on a daily
basis - John 15:5
abide - means to engage in union with Jesus Christ;
to be locked in
***locking into Jesus: is a choice
is obedience - Luke
24:49
will manifest the
tangible presence of the Lord in your life - WE EXPRESS WHAT WE ARE PARTAKING OF
IN OUR LIVES.......................
***a picture of abiding and engaging Jesus is found
in Zechariah 4:1-2
v1 - Zechariah is asleep and wakes up
v2 - the center if Jesus Christ and the other 6
spouts represent people who are being filled with the Spirit from the oil in the
bowl...
