7-Fold Expression of the Holy
Spirit

***There is only one Holy Spirit with 7 different
functions or expressions.............
***why have these expressions? Luke 4:16-19 &
Acts 10:38
(1) THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD - Isaiah
11:2
Rest - means to settle upon;come upon;to settle
down and remain
a.) speaks of a crowning; a weightiness of
God
b.) it is a tangible manifest prsence of God upon
someone
c.) it is a permanent resting
***Obtained by Jesus through intimacy - He is the
BRANCH...
---------------abide - means to lock in; engage in
union with Jesus Christ
***believers can have the Spirit upon them because
they are branches - John 15:1-15
(2) THE SPIRIT OF WISDOM - Isaiah 11:2
definition - it is supernatural ability to do what
you cannot do, see what you cannot see & know what you cannot
know
---this is not one of the 9 spirituals of 1 Cor 12
- the word of wisdom tat the Holy Spirit gives to people as He
wills...
a.) this wisdom originates from God Himself - Col
2:1-3; Mark 6:2; Luke 2:52
-it can increase
-a very important part of our lives - Prov
8:11
b.) this wisdom can be asked for - James
1:5
Example: Solomon in 2 Chronicles 1;1-3,
7-12
c.) this wisdom includes instruction - Proverbs
4:5-13
instruction - means to shoot like an arrow/ to
guide like a wise master builder
-God has a custom made house for you - a special
set of blueprints

*wife
*older friends and believers
