Ephesians 5:15-21
v15 - be wise - who is a wise person? Someone who
knows and stays close to Jesus Christ
v16 - why be wise? Because evil days are
present
v17 - understand what God's will is for your
life
v18 - What does God want us to do?
Do not be drunk with wine
***do not drink at all - Romans
14:14-21
***it is time to take a stand - 1 Peter
4:1-5
Be filled with the Holy Spirit
filled - this term is a picture of the wind behind
your back moving you forward
a.) this is a command - filled - means to abound;
to flood; to supply liberally
-because of its importance
b.) this is a choice - each person is responsible
for how filled they are and how filled they remain
c.) this is continual - be being filled wiht the
Holy Spirit
-yesterday is not enough for
today.......
The Results Of Being Filled - vs19-21
v19 - singing - you are a praiser
***Your view of God determines your level of praise
and singing
v20 - syaing thank you a lot
thanks - means to be grateful - ALWAYS
gratefulness is a sign that yuo know God and are
filled with the Holy Spirit
-gratitude is an attitude
v21 - submission - means to be soft; to give
in
a.) submission is a 2-way street
b.) someone has to make the ultimate
decision
c.) submit only to God's will and word
