Ephesians 6:18 ALL KINDS OF PRAYER

2 Prayer Keys

(1) GOD IS ATTRACTED TO WEAKNESS

(2) PRAY WITH A SPIRIT OF EXPECTATION

All Kinds of Prayer

(1) PETITIONS - Philippians 4:6-7

-Petitions are requests presented to an authority.  A couple of things about requests:

1. We can talk to God about our requests - James 4:2

-you always have God's attention

-some of these requests are called supplications - this is praying for ourselves and our own needs

2. God hears and answers all of our requests - 1 John 5:14-15

-the emphasis is on God

                  He is able - Eph 3:20

                  He is willing - Mark 1:40-42

-there are 3 answers to every prayer

a.) Yes

b.) No

c.) Not Yet

***We must PERSIST............................How do we persist?

                     *stand

                     *respond to an assignment from God

                     *continue to battle and press through - Mk 10:47-48/Luke 11:5-10

(2) THE PRAYER OF AGREEMENT - Matthew 18:19-20

-this is the power of 2

a.) our power increases when we agree together

-because Jesus is with us - v20

because there is more strength with 2 than 1 - Deut 32:30

b.) the prayer of agreement is only effective when those who come into agreement in prayer are walking in agreement - 1 Peter 3:1-7

(3) THNAKSGIVING - Psalm 100

-a Psalm of thanksgiving

-thanksgiving - means to be grateful/have an attitude of gratitude

v1 - make a joyful shout to God - Jehovah

-for what He has done

             a.) Now

             b.) in the future

-thanksgiving comes from a grateful heart.......................

v2 - serve - means to submit - submit yourself to His will and ways

presence - means face - God is approachable

-we can come to the Father in the name of Jesus

-Just come with all your weaknesses and issues

v3 - Jesus Christ is God

-Jesus created Israel and everything

-we are His people - those who are saved

v4 - enter - this is an invitation

-being thankful is a choice

-being thankful is always (be thankful is continual)

v5 - Be thankful for who Jesus Christ is

(1) He is Merciful - means to have compassion for those who are hurting

(2) He is Good - means to heap benefits on others

(3) He is Truth - means that which is real and genuine

-this is true for all generations...
