Ephesians 6:18

perseverance - means the pursuit of a desired end; to hold your course with tenacity;unswerving adherence to principles; not giving in or up

(1) PERSEVERANCE IS SUSTAINED BY PURPOSE - Luke 9:51

-the purpose of Jesus Christ

a.) God is a God of purpose

*each believer has a purpose

*something spiritual is always attached to your purpose

b.) God's purpose is never hindered by our past life

c.) God's purpose always coincides with natural talents and abilities

-be content with your purpose

d.) purpose still is intertwined with determination

*perseverance begins with perspiration

*perseverance is not easy - just ask Jesus...

(2) PERSEVERANCE IS GIVING UP THE IDEA OF QUITTING - Galatians 6:9

3 Principles:

     1.make a declaration - I will not quit

      2. Remember you wil fall down - BBA

      3. know your miracle is downstream

(3) PERSEVERANCE IS A DECISION - 2 Timothy 4:6-8

       1. it is a decision to finsih strong

*Revelation 3:5,12,21

       2. it is a decision to walk strong - no matter what

*regardless of feelings, emotions, trials, pain

* 2 Corinthians 4:8-9
