Ephesians 6:10-17 (v15)
The Roman soldier had a special kind
of shoe: -made of thick leather -had cleats (knobs) on the bottom -tightly strapped on to the leg and
foot What do these shoes represent? (1) STANDING - Ephesians 6:11,13,14 a.) standing against the devil
1. the enemy is already defeated at the cross - 1 Timothy 6:12
2. the enemy can still pressure, but we can stand against him at all times
-use our authority in Christ
-use the word of God 2 ways the enemy pressures us:
1. he tells us that some sins are beyond forgiveness
-because of their largeness
-because they are repetitive
2. he tells us one thing to get us to sin and then another to overwhelm us in
despair b.) standing on the word of God and
for the word of God -which is a gospel of Peace -gospel - means good news -peace - means to join yourself
together which results in quiet, calmness and rest ***********Peace with God ***********Peace with yourself ***********Peace with others ***********Peace that we know we
have victory over the enemy at all times 2.) CERTANTY - 1 John 5:13-15 -nothing is certain today and
nothing can be counted on except Jesus Christ and His word -1 John 5:13-15; 1 John 3:5; 1 John

solid;balanced; good a.) Biblical principles are not
weird -it is all true b.) what you do at church should be
able to be done anywhere c.) keep balanced in doctrine d.) be open to the supernatural -Christianity is supernatural 4.) SLIPPING - 1 John 2:1-2 -the Roman soldire did not slip too
much because of the grip of their shoes -we as believer should not slip
(sin) too much but should sin less and less and less as we grow
spiritually v1 - little children - means all
believers and is an affectionate, loving term showing God's love toward people don;t sin - John was telling the
reader that he did not want them to sin one time "IF" we do sin - this is
not speaking of habitual sin, but infrequent sins advocate - means one called
alongside to help; a supporter; a comforter with the Father - means facing the
Father propitiation - means Jesus is the
