The Holy Spirit in
Genesis (1) The Holy Spirit Moves - Genesis
1:2 hovering - means activity/continuous
action and movement -The Holy Spirit is always moving a.) declare it b.) receive it - by faith -you cannot always see Him move, but
we walk by faith Romans 4:19-21 - we must all have
strong faith to know God is on the move at all times ***STRONG FAITH knows God can do
what He says He will do - v21 ***STRONG FAITH doesn't consider the
circumstances - ***STRONG FAITH does not stagger at the
word of God ***STRONG FAITH praises Him (2) The Holy Spirit is Patient -
Genesis 6:8/Romans 15:5 strive - means to plead His cause *there is a time when man can shut
the door tight on God and His will and ways God is patient - Gen 6:3/Romans 15:5 What is patience? It means to
be constant or the same all of the time, no matter what is going on (Hebrews
13:8) ----------Patience is Waiting - 2
Peter 3:9 -watch out for our attitude -let's wait on Him as He waits on us -----------Patience is acting while
waiting - 2 Peter 3:9 -waiting is an action word -----------Patience is
receiving the promise - James 5:7-8 & Galatians 6:9 (3) The Holy Spirit points to the
return of the Lord - Genesis 6 & John 16:13 -the Holy Spirit will show us things
to come ***What is the Holy Spirit showing
us now: 1.) It is harvest time - John
4:34-38 2.) the days of Noah are upon us -
Genesis 6:1-14 & Matthew 24:36-39 a.) violence b.) a mockery of Christianity - 2
Peter 3:3 (4) The Holy Spirit will rest upon
us - Genesis 41:38 -not on a perfect vessel, but on
anyone who simply has a heart for the Lord -John 14:6-7 - OT - on the
believer
NT - in the believer ***God delights in choosing the
"are nots" of the world - 1 Corinthians 1:26-29 -these are people who know that they
need God................... -it brings glory to the
Lord............
