The Holy Spirit in Genesis

1.) Genesis 1:1-2 - The Holy Spirit is not bothered by Chaos

-v2 - without form and void - means waste;chaotic;empty;confusion;tragic;pain

           ***the earth became this way

Principles to Remember:

           1. God is in control - Job 1:6-12

-disruptive moments are divine appointments

           2.Progress without pain is usually not possible - 1 Corinthians 11:22-28

-style vs substance

-do not run, but remain

-God allows no pain without purpose

             3. The promise of God is the provision of the Spirit - John 16:7

-I will send Him............................

             4. What we receive from disruptive moments depends upon how we respond - James 1:2-4

-choice......................

2.) The Holy Spirit Moves - Genesis 1:2

hovering - means activity;continuous movement

***The Holy Spirit is always moving

a.) declare it

b.) receive it by faith

-do not walk by feelings, emotions, circumstances or sight

-not seeing is no reason for not believing.........

Remember 2 things:

***Faith does not deny reality.  It changes it

***The divine principle of faith is that as we act, God acts - Mark 5:34 & Mark 10:52

3.) Genesis 6:1-8 - The Holy Spirit is Patient

strive - means to plead His cause

-there is a time God will give people over to their own ways

-patience - Genesis 6:3 - God gives mankind 120 years to repent

4.) Genesis 41:38 _ The Holy Spirit can rest on us - no matter what we are like

a.) God delights in choosing the are nots of the world - 1 Cor 1:26-29

-God receives all the glory, honor and praise
